New Balance Steps Ahead To The Future With The 574S
The crew over at DopeKoto sport New Balance sneakers to avoid a narrow path. As avid fanboys of the brand, we were stoked when they asked us to share with y’all their latest. Without further ado, it’s with great pleasure to introduce the 574S.
A Nod To The Past
Let’s start with a brief history of what inspired the 574S. The original 574 first debuted back in 1988 as part of the brand’s 500 series ‘off-road’ running shoes. It’s simple, yet efficient design grew the runner silhouette some immense popularity and took the brand’s Encap midsole technology to another level. Some of the sneakers more notable collaborations include Mita ‘Mojito’ and UNDFTD ‘Man vs. Wild’.
A Toast To The Future
Fast forward to 2017, the innovative brains at New Balance HQ have cooked up something tasty for the supporters. Following the mass appeal and fandom of the sport-style 247, the 574S marks the next chapter in the brand’s sports-style category. So unless you’ve been in hibernation, you’ve probably caught glimpses of the sleek new sneaker in the previous weeks. The Family and Friends pair and Ronnie’s x DSM velcro brew. Let me tell you a bit more about the shoe itself.
A true testament to the past, present and future, the 574S is a contemporary take on the iconic silhouette. Drawing inspiration from New Balance’s performance roots, the 574 Sport features Fresh Foam cushioning, a sock-like collar and an absorb crash pad for that extra support and comfort.
New Balance has an outstanding reputation for their top tier quality, and this release is no exception. Sporting a mixture of suede and mesh on the sock-like upper, it wouldn’t be complete without its reflective underlays. The hits of colour on the heel counter and the forefoot set this pair off into the future of New Balance’s sports-style category. Finally, each pair will be hand packaged into New Balance’s original black box from the old school days.
In my opinion, New Balance has executed the concept of old and new in pure form. As my first pair of sneakers utilising the Fresh Foam technology, and I can honestly feel the increase in support, comfort and stability. In hand, the sneaker is utterly beautiful. It combines a white mesh with some lovely grey suede on the mudguard. I think I speak for all sneakerheads when I say, that’s dope! On a final note, I strongly suggest you head over to LaceSpace and pick up a bottle of Liquiproof otherwise these white joints will get hella dirty.
Both Black and White colourways will be drop at selected New Balance stockists this Saturday 15th July. We want to know what you think so let us know how you feel about the new model in the comments below.
