It hasn’t even been three months since our last post of the Melbourne Central store launch, and UK athleisure powerhouse JD Sports has already opened its Pacific Fair doors today together with over 50 shoes to launch, 46 of which were JD exclusives; ID’d by the “King of Trainers” tag.

These exclusives are special production runs from JD Sports working closely together with global footwear giants such as Nike or adidas. To name a few of the launch products, there were Flyknit Racers, Ultraboosts, NMDs, Cortez’s, and my personal favourite Vapormaxes.

Much like the Melbourne store opening, a free Crep Protect sneaker station for customer shoes, a live DJ cranking the beats and street dancers compounded the grand opening festivities. Few of the Brisbane sneakerheads and sneaker collectors made the early hour-long trip down to Gold Coast to snatch a pair of launch exclusives themselves. Goes to show JD Sports’ presence in the scene is solid and that they have done a decent job in reaching their clientele.

We at DopeKoto were lucky enough to be granted insider access to the store before the launch day and got to see a glimpse of all the stock before some of them ceased to exist on display today. From what we can see JD Sports is unique and refreshing to the local Australian scene in that they encompass both women’s and kids range with an equal proportion of men’s; catering for an area of the market with much-needed attention. Because let’s face it, you aren’t as fly unless the whole squad on that real sh*t. They’re not another Rebel Sports or another Foot Locker. No. They’re the “Undisputed King of Trainers”.

And special shout out to our homies over at The Kickz Stand for the invite!
