The Kickz Stand’s ‘It’s More Than Just Sneakers’ Adelaide 2017
Last weekend a few from the DopeKoto squad, made the interstate pilgrimage to South Australia for the first stop of the 2017 ‘IMTJS’ Lifestyle Tour. If you aren’t familiar with this initialism, ‘It’s More Than Just Sneakers’ lifestyle event hosted by The Kickz Stand (TKS) brings sneakerheads together from far and wide and attracts a host of local and international sponsors alike, such as Asics Tiger, Limited Edt, Hype DC and Sunlight Station.
This first leg of the tour, Adelaide got the ball rolling and did not disappoint one bit, with around 24 vendors strong providing a huge variety of goods from streetwear to toys and without a doubt, sneakers. Attendees lined up in the sunny weather, which we couldn’t have asked for any better, showing Atlantis Bar exactly what it meant to rock heat on feet.
As per standard TKS tradition, the sneaker community group provided plenty of prizes to raffle, consistently drawing everyone’s attention, sending some lucky members of the sneaker community home with the biggest smiles on their faces. But that wasn’t the only reason why people were happy; the vendors gave some amazing deals we haven’t seen in a long time and gave most sneakerheads of Adelaide something to add to their collection. These vendors included Saint Side, Humble Home, Motley Street, Salty Kicks Adelaide, Hyperprints, Jordanheadz and of course The Kickz Stand themselves.
We’ll be compiling a ‘Top 10’ sneakers worn at the event later this week so keep your eyes peeled and stay tuned for that. In the meantime, enjoy some of the photos from the day and sign up to our newsletter to keep track of the following posts here.
We’d like to thank all the sponsors, participants and of course, The Kickz Stand, for without them none of this would have been possible. It was a beautiful day with positive vibes and a real pleasure to meet the Adelaide familia. A big shout out to the Fairfax crew for the love and hospitality!
