Puma heads to the streets of Japan in creating their brand new innovative sneaker – ‘The Tsugi Shinsei’. Tsugi, meaning “next” in Japanese, features laces that zig zag through the sidewalls onto the tongue. The performance-inspired silhouette debuts a brand new intricate lacing system that is well reminiscent of Nike’s Footscapes. A lightweight, breathable mesh upper sits atop Puma’s signature Ignite midsole cushioning, paying tribute to their slogan “Run The Streets”. Finished off with a sleek Puma branded heel strap, this sneaker is a sweet addition to their lifestyle range.

Personally, I dig what Puma have done with this pair. It’s new, it’s different and screams tons of style. The padding on the tongue looks a little chunky off-foot. However, I’d like to try out the Ignite midsole cushioning technology and see how it compares against its competitors including the New Balance 247 and adidas NMDs.
