ASICS and Slam Jam had an amazing success with their collab release back in 2010, that is of course the ‘5th Dimension’ Gel-Lyte III. Six years later, the Italian boutique has teamed up yet again to deliver another Gel-Lyte III colourway, drawing design cues from the previous ‘5th dimension’ and dubbing it the ‘6THPRLLL’ (6th Parallel).

This time Slam Jam has flipped the ‘5th Dimension’ colours around. Changing the crimson red gradient to a Crayola sky blue, and turning the “light” to darkness — producing an audacious sneaker compared to the previous release. This darker twin also consists of a mesh upper in various shades of grey and matching suede overlays. The shoe finishes off with a vibrant yellow collar lining and a matching sockliner.

Simone Valsecchi, who led the art direction of the collab, has also hand crafted masks out of the sneaker itself and placed them on “four ancient knights”. These knights are from the 6THPRLLL — a darker construction of the fifth dimension. The collaboration will also include a 7″ vinyl containing the namesake track 6THPRLLL produced by DJ Khalab and DJ Hendrix.

The ‘6THPRLLL’ Gel-Lyte III will be available online at Slam Jam on this Saturday 14th of May, as well as their Milan and Ferrara store. We expect a wider release a week later though, based on what we’ve seen with other sneaker releases. In the meantime, you can check out the launch video below.
